Purpose
The YMC represents the needs of the younger members of HKIUD, facilitate young urban design professionals in interfacing with employers and stakeholders and will have particular focus on strengthening the existing HKIUD objectives:

• To create a platform for information sharing on urban design issues in Hong Kong and the region.
• To strengthen the communication between urban designers and the urban design practices.
• To provide a mentorship or advisor system to younger urban designers, graduates and students.

Terms of Reference

1. To advise the HKIUD, ensuring that younger members have a voice within the Council.
2. To facilitate networking with young members of other professional institutes and organisations.
3. To organise activities for younger members to meet industry leaders through mentorship.
4. To organise an Urban Design Award, acknowledging outstanding research or design project.
5. Facilitating young urban design professionals in interfacing with employers and stakeholders.
6. To assist student members, graduate members and potential members in gathering further knowledge to acquire HKIUD full membership.
