Purpose
To ensure timely and effective communication of HKIUD information and the latest developments both to the membership and between the HKIUD and the larger community. Overall the Media & Publications Committee develops a long-term HKIUD publications and public relations plan, edits news, monitors progress of the website, advises on Press and Public Relations, Newsletters and develops publications promoting Urban Design in general and the HKIUD in particular.
Functions
The Media & Publications Committee will contribute to the development and promotion of the Institute through two connected channels:
- Media Panel (bi-lingual) – dealing with external communications including press releases, Interviews, social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram), websites and marketing material and lead by the Head of Communications; and
- Editorial Board (English) – responsible for U&U Journal (3 times per year), print publications, event publications, info brochures, article content, marketing content and lead by the Editor in Chief.
Composition and Reporting
The committee shall consist of at least 6 Members and be steered by Co-Chairpersons consisting of the Head of Communication of the Media Panel and the Editor in Chief of the Editorial Board. The Committee shall publish minutes from regular meetings held and report directly to the HKIUD Council and the Membership at Annual General meeting.
