Purpose
The Public Affairs Committee provides professional views, the position of the Institute on urban design issues and mainstreaming of urban design in major government decisions on built environment.

Terms of Reference

1. To gauge the views of members on urban design issues.
2. To prepare and present professional views and the Institute’s position on urban design issues.
3. To regularly update these views on the Institute’s website.
4. To raise public awareness of issues relating to urban design.
5. Where invited, to nominate members to serve on government committees, attend LegCo panel meetings and serve on other committees the business of which bears on urban design issues.
6. To initiate and respond to opportunities for collaboration with other institutes and organisations engaged in events and activates related to urban design.
7. To liaise with the media on the views and position of the Institute.
