River Connects · Civic Prototypes Student Design Competition

Organised by the School of Architecture of CUHK, with strategic partners including NMCO, CEDD, and HKIA, this competition invites architecture students from the Greater Bay Area to propose modest yet transformative civic interventions along the Tin Shui Wai River corridor. The vision is to treat the river not as a dividing line, but as a living public seam connecting new towns, villages, ecology, and infrastructure.

The current programme is as follows:

  • 24–30 August – Registration
  • 1 September – Release of Design Brief
  • 12 September – Site Visit and Competition Workshop 1
  • 19 September – Competition Workshop 2
  • 16 November – Online Submission Deadline
  • 28 November (Saturday) – Jury Adjudication
  • 3 December – Result Announcement
  • May – Construction completion and prize-giving ceremony, Symposium
